During the trade show ANDINA LINK CENTRAL AMERICA 2008 GUATEMALA, took place the Forum Convergent Technologies as promoters of the enterprise competitiveness in Central America, as the following activity after the inauguration of the event. The comments of the attendees were very positive in terms of quality of the speakers and content of submissions.

The first presentation was in charge of Mr. Elías Almendarez Frech of the UNCOSU, and went by title: Convergence in Central America, and included the following subjects:

1. Brief retrospective of the networks of Telecommunications in Central America
2. What is Convergence?
3. Technological convergence.
4. Convergent mesh wirings.
5. Benefits of the All Included.
6. It is justified to impel the Technological Convergence in Our Countries. 7. Future of the Telecommunications and how the convergence handles the changes of Technology.
7. How do we prepare ourselves for the Technological change and to the opening of the market?

The second presentation was given by Mr. Javier Guzman Director of Engineering for Latin America form Metaswitch. The title of the conference was Convergence in Telecommunications, and spoke about the following subjects:

1. The impact of the convergence in services is an important factor in the adoption of technologies of new generation including IMS. Its adoption on the part of operators means increase of competitiveness but also it means technical and commercial difficulties. The conference examined the most important aspects of the convergence including the fix-movable convergence (FMC) and of the existing solutions for its implementation.

After the lunch break, Mr. Marcos Noriega - Project Specialist & Customer Service of the Union of Operators of TV by cable of Guatemala titled his conference the DIGITALIZATION IN CENTRAL AMERICA: Digitalization: where are you? Including the following key points:

1. Present situation of the digital standards in Central America (Practical Case, country demonstration)
2. What challenges will face the Central American companies with analogical infrastructures facing the opening of the telecommunications in the era of the digitalization?
3. What role is going to play the television like impeller of the Society of the Information from the digitalization?
4. What transformations in the audio-visual panorama will bring the process of digitalization of the television and the phenomenon of the convergence?
5. Next, the fourth conference was in charge of Mr. Rafael Cobos - Systems engineer for Central America of Cisco Systems, who spoke about:
