Speaker: Javier Guzman, Engineering Director for the Caribbean
and Latin America from Metaswitch.

PanelistaCable operators (MSOs) are aggressively expanding in the market for data services in broadband. From the point of view of operators, SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) represent an important segment which is not managed in the best way by traditional phone service providers. The MSO (multi system operator) infrastructure can include HFC (Hybrid Fibre Coaxial), and fibre to leased lines deployed in a geographical area. ¿How is it possible to maximize these extensive networks in a unified architecture and manage it in an efficient way?.The answer is to increase the added value of that networks through voice and video services, which together with data services, create a formidable offer. However, to satisfy the demands of the SME is not enough to offer residential services re-powered, it requires optimal designs and architectures, services and applications by market segment, as well as optimal ways for deploy these architectures, services and applications to compete and succeed in the SME segment.
