San Salvador counts on many places of recreation. Conosca some of the most visited and important.
Park Balboa
In 1949, the area of the park was property of Social Improvement, that in 1950 divided in the Institute of Urban House (IVU) and the Institute of Colonizacio'n Rural (ICR), today ISTA. Seeing that that park was going to be undressed of its flora and fauna, Don Raul Contreras, president of the National Meeting of Tourism, recovered it for benefit of the Salvadorans. This same year, the Park Balboa was inaugurated like first turicentro of the country. It was named like Balboa in memory of Basoue Núñez de Balboa, discoverer of the Pacific Ocean.
It has an area of 40 apples and is located to a height of 972 meters on the level of the sea. |

The Door of the Devil is to a kilometer to the south of this park and whose lands were donated in 1951 by the gentlemen Harrison Step and Eliseo Rovira to the National Meeting of Tourism, with an extension of four apples. Its summit, denominated Insolent Hill, is to a height of 1131 meters on the level of the sea.

Park of the Family
It was constructed in 1996 by the National of Family and inaugurated Secretariat in November of the same year. One is located to 12 kilometers to the south of San Salvador, in the Plans of Renderos.
Account with breeding ground, amphitheatre, civic seat, sport fields (soccer, basketball, voleivol), track of motocross, area of infantile games, forest area, panoramic viewpoint, sale of crafts, track of skating, area of piñatas, third-rate cafes and ample maintenance.
In addition it has permanent security.
